Update Received //

The last few EverQuest Project 1999 Green server streams have leaned fully into what makes classic EQ special: long journeys, dangerous dungeons, and shared adventures that feel earned every step of the way. Instead of taking shortcuts, we committed to the road and made our way from the East Commonlands Tunnel all the way to the Estate of Unrest alongside low-level friends, without levitate or teleports. Just travel, conversation, and the kind of moments that only happen when the world feels big again.

That journey alone set the tone for the streams. It wasn’t about efficiency — it was about the adventure itself. Along the way, the group took on challenges that tested coordination, patience, and a little bit of stubborn determination. The laughs, close calls, and unexpected encounters made it clear why these classic paths are still remembered so fondly.

We also spent time hunting some very specific targets. Tantor, the merciless and massive mastodon, became a recurring focus as we chased his tusk to turn into a proper weapon. Like most things in classic EverQuest, the hunt was never guaranteed, which only made each encounter more exciting and each attempt feel meaningful.

The Tower of Frozen Shadow brought a different kind of challenge. We’ve been working our way through the tower hunting keys and wedding rings, navigating its strange layout and unforgiving mechanics. Each run felt like progress, even when the loot didn’t cooperate, and it’s been slowly opening the door to deeper exploration.

Another major target has been Groi Gutblade, hunted for his Lionhide Backpacks and invisibility clickie rings. These kinds of camps perfectly capture the P99 experience — balancing danger, patience, and timing while hoping the next pull finally drops what you’re looking for.

Looking ahead, the adventure continues this Tuesday as we return to the Estate of Unrest with a clear goal: breaking through the Manor Doors and fighting our way floor by floor through the estate itself. This is where things start to get serious, and where Unrest really earns its reputation as one of the most iconic dungeons in the game.

Beyond Unrest, even more adventures are lined up — including journeys that lean heavily into those classic Lord of the Rings travel vibes, where the road itself becomes part of the story. Long paths, shared danger, and moments that feel less like grinding and more like living in the world.

There’s also an interactive stream event coming up: Hide and Seek in Norrath. I’ll hide somewhere in the world live on stream, and the first person to track me down wins a prize. It’s a fun way to get chat involved directly in the game world and turn exploration into a shared challenge.

If you want to explore more beyond the stream, the AEthan Skot website is home to demo games, ongoing storylines, and experimental projects that tie into the same shared universe. It’s another entry point into the signal for anyone who wants to dig deeper.

More is coming, plans are forming, and the road ahead is wide open. Stay tuned to see what happens next.

SUBMISSON // Things are getting exciting

The last stretch of Project 1999 streams has been one of those periods where everything seems to click at once. What started as a simple decision to roll fresh characters on the Blue server quickly turned into a string of unexpected encounters, spontaneous grouping, and the kind of organic friendships that only really happen in classic EverQuest. From the first few levels onward, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a short-lived experiment.

Starting new characters always carries a certain energy with it. Everyone is fragile again, gear matters, spells feel impactful, and every decision has weight. On Blue, that early-game tension brought people together fast. Camps turned into conversations, conversations turned into invites, and before long we were running with players we’d only just met, but already trusted with pulls, heals, and crowd control. Those are the moments that make P99 feel alive.

What made this stretch of streams especially memorable was how quickly those early encounters evolved into something more consistent. These weren’t just random passersby — these were players who stuck around, came back, and started planning future sessions together. That momentum is carrying straight into tonight’s stream, where we’ll be grouping up again and continuing to build on what started organically over the last few sessions.

At the same time as the new beginnings on Blue, there was also a major milestone unfolding on the Green server. Velanni officially reached level 60 on her Druid, marking the end of a long and demanding journey which tooke just under 2 years. Anyone familiar with Project 1999 knows that hitting 60 isn’t a quick grind — it’s weeks and months of careful play, travel, camps that don’t always go your way, and a lot of patience.

Watching that final push come together was a reminder of just how different this era of EverQuest feels compared to modern games. There are no shortcuts, no instant queues, and no guarantees. Every level earned represents time spent learning zones, managing risk, and relying on other players. Hitting 60 felt less like a checkbox and more like the closing of a chapter.

What tied both servers together during these streams was the shared sense of progress. On Blue, everything is fresh and uncertain. On Green, the achievement reflects experience and persistence. Together, they show both ends of the P99 experience — the excitement of starting something new and the satisfaction of seeing a long-term goal finally completed.

These sessions have also reinforced why streaming Project 1999 continues to resonate so strongly. It isn’t just about efficient leveling or chasing best-in-slot gear. It’s about the stories that form naturally when players slow down, communicate, and actually rely on one another. Those stories are what linger long after the stream ends.

We’re going live again tonight and picking up right where things left off. The new Blue server characters are ready to keep pushing forward, the group dynamics are forming, and there’s no telling what unexpected moments will come out of the next session. Whether you’ve been watching regularly or you’re jumping back in for the first time in a while, tonight’s stream is shaping up to be a good one.

If you enjoy classic EverQuest for the same reasons we do — the pacing, the social friction, the shared victories, and the occasional chaos — come hang out with us live. There’s a lot happening right now, and this feels like the beginning of another memorable run.

The momentum on stream lately has been incredible. What started as small dungeon runs and casual grouping has grown into something much big...
